4mm rod shaped, fitted and edge knocked over to give a stiff smooth beaded edge. Bruised the surface a bit but not badly.

Difficult to say until it's assembled to the base, but it's pretty stiff as is. I'd like to keep it smooth as I prefer the look (and It's easier that way   Wink Cheesy)
I can swage some beads in later if required.

The swages in my steel Pop seats look like the guy did them blind folded -really wonky - but they were intended to be upholstered so would never be seen.
