Nipped down to Weston Super Mare on the West Coast yesterday afternoon. A lovely warm Spring day down there with lots of day trippers like me taking the air. I'd gone for a classic car show, but had a wander along the sea front while I was there. Weston's famed for it's beach -when the tide goes out it goes literally about half a mile & leaves a vast expanse of sandy beach. I played here many a time as a kid. The town's a lot tackier & more touristy than I remember it, but the beach is still fabulous.
They have a display of sand sculptures there every Summer. I've seen this kind of stuff on the 'net before, but never for real. Amazing how much detail they can add to what really is just damp sand.
