For the xv1100 conversion I am thinking of replacing the knackered bike battery with a small car battery. The question is will the bike have enough output to charge a car battery.
Thanks

Where did that 13mm spanner go then?

As I understand it there should be no problem. Battery size is more a matter of amount of storage capacity and delivery rate. A small alternator will still charge a large battery. Problems come when you are trying to take out more than goes in by adding extra lights, heated seat, massive sound systems etc. but that would be the same for the standard battery, just that would flatten quicker because of the larger storage capacity of a bigger battery.
Is there a particular reason why you want a car battery.  My Reliant engine trike uses a Harley size battery and I have had no problems.

Hi Olds, just down to finances really. The battery for the xv1100 is dearer so thought about a car battery which is cheaper.
Thanks for the reply
