The Barge Inn was demolished to make way for the new Basingstoke town centre in the 60s -which was demolished to make way for the newer town centre in the late 90s.

3 shillings!  Woking is my home town.

Anyone remember those pale blue 3 wheeled invalid carriages from the 60s & 70s? I wonder if any have survived?

Haven't seen this Hillman before. Interesting.

This belongs to Sandra and Dean of the New Forest, who maintain the Hearse Register.  Their collection is mainly hearses but depending on the outcome, this ambulance could have been transporting a body, so not too different!

I really liked it Jay Jay. Unrestored & used -the ambulance, not you!
There was an old Daimler hearse at the show. The owner said he plans to drag race it later this year.

Only 1 seat, but 2 doors.

That's because you need to exit quickly when you are about to be run over by a lorry!

We met this vehicle and its owner at the Newbury meet. It was interesting talking to him.

89 pounds, 12 shillings & sixpence, from Friary Motors, based where the Audi/Volkswagon dealership is now, in Hatch, just outside Basingstoke.

Beautiful aluminium bodied Bristol in untouched "barn find" condition. It's driven regularly & has belonged to the same guy for 47 years.
He described it as like bringing your favourite Grandfather back to life -same voice, same wrinkles, same fun.
