Still I feel it's a shame with such a rare vehicle.
 The original V twin engine that was with it, has been replaced with a 4 cyl side valve and the front suspension has been very badly bodged to take the extra weight.

Dave, the 750cc "V" twin, shaft drive, motor has probably been tucked away for sale at a 'very serious money type of price',sometime in the future! Cheesy I shouldn't wonder! and whilst I agree it a shame what's been done to the chassis/body, each to his own, I suppose, and there's a precedent for small side valve,'in-line 4's' for this type of vehicle, as Morgan,BSA & Reliant all used the ubiquitous Austin 7 motor in their 3 Wheelers pre-WW2, at various times, along side the Matchless, JAP and BSA "V" twin power plants, so...................hey, ho....makes for a talking point, I suppose Grin Grin Grin Grin..Morrag

It's not so much that the vehicle has been modified, more the way it's been done that winds me up. Cry
I just hope that the new owner knows better and has more mechanical sympathy.

I knew that I'd seen the engine somewhere. On ebay earlier this year:-

Complete and ready for collection
Vintage 1930.s   750cc V twin Sturmey Archer as fitted in Raleigh safety seven two seater sports car,  interesting  engine for special/three wheeler, alloy heads, 3 speed gear box, self start + handle, coil ingnition/dynomo, no broken fins or damaged caseings.   internally  very good except some wear in cylinder bores.

I bought this for a trike but too many projects.... and someone bought the Raleigh on ebay recently. They might want to revert it to more original than the Ford 100e engine they have ??

As you said morrag, they wanted serious money. More than I could afford for an engine and box but would be perfect for a period reverse trike
