thats not that small...on second thought we've seen the size of some of the things you'll be working at  Smiley

how high can you go? could you go for a scissor lift type thing which sinks into the floor, any hight is better than working on the floor. i have heard a pit increase's your rates by a lot.

roof's personal preference but pitched would be mine, although my sheds got a wagon roof and fits well in a rural setting also gives a bit more head room at the edges

mine cost around 10 grand to build but i bought s/h tin and steel work but paid someone to do everything except the wiring which Alan and I did over a couple of weekends.it took me 5 years to save for that bloddy shed and now i only reluctantly go in it Sad

You pay higher council tax if you've got an inspection pit?

I remember seeing fibreglass inspection pits at a show somewhere. A bit like a pond moulding, with steps cast in & pre-wired lights. Just dig a hole & drop the moulding into it.

looked at them and also the steel ones built to VOSA specs == even more expensive  they have cross braces in them , you dig an oversize hole cement blind the base the wacker it,, then drop the pit box in then weight it down ,(fill with water or other heavy objects) pour concrete around the outside ,, leave to set,, then remove the cross braces, all in all bl##dy expensive , due to the price and the labour cost/time involved.

I paid 600 quid for a second hand 2 post lift. One of the local garages has one fitted outside, (limitless headroom!). No room to do that?
