BG is right, it really isn't good enough. I believe that in cases like this, where someone needs hospital treatment, statements should be taken where possible within 24 hours of the incident.

That's really not good enough Mike - phone again and tell them you're scared to go out!  Or contact the office of the Police Commisioner.  Or the papers!
     I cant agree more with BG and ON Mike, and i would like to say that in retrospect that posting my recent experience on this thread might not have been appropriate , sorry.

whoo bl##dy hooo ,,pc plod finally turned up at T time 8 days after the event and said that if statements were to be used in court that they should be taken within 48hours of the incident  . so there wasnt much point taking any ,,. he did apologise for the delay though  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

so its been logged for future referance incase anything else happens.

logged as  minor assault assailents unknown,,,,

but also said if i could give them the assailents names and be 100% shure the names were correct then they would look into it further
