The clothes I've been wearing today are in the washing machine, possibly ruined, I have a swollen elbow and I'm waiting for the bath water to heat up.
This sort of started yesterday. Took the trike to the local coal merchants to buy a few bags. No problems there. They even wanted some pics of the trike with the coal in the back. But when I went into the garage this morning, realised that the front discs were going rusty. For some dumb reason the local authorities have heavily salted the local roads already.
Not wanting to leave the trike covered in salt, decided to treat it to a wash and while I was at it cleaned the wife's car.
Thinking ahead, thought, it might be a good idea to give the 650 a bit of winter protection. With the engine running to charge a slightly low battery I started to clean the chromed engine cases prior to a coat of duck oil. Unfortunately I must have loosened the oil filler which decided to pop out. This, was not a good. Hot engine oil sprayed at an amazing rate all over the place. It hit me, the bike, including the front tyre and brake disc, the garage door and driveway and also the freshly washed Volvo. As for the elbow, in my haste to reach the keys and perhaps partly because my glasses were covered in oil, I tripped and hit the doorstep.
Oh, while cleaning up the mess I also noticed my rear tyre needs replacing
