There's a storm a-brewin'.
Although we only stayed a few hours, I really enjoyed this event.
Apparently they managed to complete all 3 sessions, one dry & 2 wet.
Hope they made a lot of money for their charities cos it was well organised & enthusiastically supported & I wanna have a go next year.  Grin

Hope the charities did well from the event. Nice photos too Andy.

So you wanna have a go next year huh?
Don't tell anyone, but if you drive to the road anytime you want, you can have a go up the hill FOC!!! So as much practice as you want.............. Grin  Grin   Grin

Heh, if the folk of Shere can organise one, what's to stop the folk of Mankyville?  Roll Eyes   Undecided

You can always take your road car to Prescott and drive the famous hill there - http://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/driversschool.aspx
Or Gurston Down  http://www.gurstondown.org/gurston-hillcimb-school/

Here's irony - Normally we'd complain if someone had left some straw bails on the Queen's Highway so we had to swerve around them, but here, its a sold-out pay-for-the-experience!!!  Cheesy

For those that don't live in Surrey, the roads are having significantly more closure orders in recent years, most due to various cycling events. For residents, this means vehicular access to and from their property is simply not permitted.

The Green Vanwall in the pics is one of the (2005?) GPR V12s. Not bad for a road legal piece of kit eh?

Sounded great too.
The hill they used was also closed as part of the Olympic cycle racing route last year.

The difference in the road closures is that you can race bicycles on road closures, but you can't race internal-combustion engined vehicles...............

How far is it to the IoM.............. ?  Roll Eyes

laws must be different over here because roads get closed all the time ,lots of motorcycle road racing and tarmac rallying using closed public roads but the snag here is if the event is postponed the closure dates are not variable ie if the road is closed for a saturday and the event postponed /delayed then you can't move to the sunday, monday or what ever
