have not had time to look yet.
a mate said to dipp the oil, and if it smells of petrol its a hole in piston or rings.
i am busy putting my back box on trike to sell on to get cash for fixing bike.

have striped of fairing and tank to get to air box. found loads of foamy liquid in there, does not look like it should be there    any ideas what it could be it is also in a breather pipe going to the head. went to a bike shop and they said that the gunk is very common. so dont know what to look at next?

Well it sounds like you have no compression, This could be one of four things, Hole in piston. Piston rings broken or worn. Bent or burnt valve. Blown head gasket.
Or it could just be tight tappet clearances.

waiting for manual to turn up so i can get head of and be able to put it back together.
hoping it will just be gasket.
manual is hear now, time to start striping down head now i know where to look for TDC marks.
marking position of timing chain - is it only a special pen you can use or any pen that will work?
