question that has been niggling me i understand and agree this will get death traps fully checked now and get them of the streets but what happens to the trikes that were done years ago before the msva came in do they have to get checked out
My reliant was done many years ago (not by me) and this used to worry me. The log book says Jawa though not reliant and it has tricycle in the correct place without any body type. As Jawa never made a trike, with or without a reliant engine, I no longer worry

Bloody hell. As a sprint & drag bike machine examiner for many years I have seen some abortions in my time but that is beyond death trap. How do you propose to remedy it?

f**k me thats bad, if i cudnt weld i simply wouldnt , everyone has a mate who does, this "builder" should never be allowed near a welder again, its beyond me why youd risk your own let alone a loved ones life. maybe he hated his wife though??

Good God Goose , bet you're glad you had that blasted, at least now you'll know that it's been done properly.

Yep, and it'll only take a few accidents involving vehicles like this to force us all to use coded welders and certified frames.

When I first realised I would have to ride a trike in future rather than a bike - early 2004 I guess - I went to look at a Reliant trike. I knew NOTHING about trikes other than that they had 3 wheels, and this one was of the 'flying bedstead' variety. I took one look and ran! Didn't know anything about the welding but i could see that the rider's seat was attached or rather should have been attached by 2 small meccano-looking pices, one of which had rusted through and broken, which was enough to tell me I didn't want to look at anything else on it! Used to see quite a lot of those about but most of them seem to have disappeared really. Wonder why?

if you remember i bought a ,,road legal,,, reliant trike a couple of years back (good ole evil bay ) bought it of a driving instructor from coventry ,,
coventry is where it should have stayed ,, the morning after i got it home i cut it up for scrap,,, made out of school table legs and bird crap welding, so that was one less on the road
