There are many here who'd dispute whether we're part of Europe Ben, but you'd be very welcome on our side of the planet any time.
politically perhaps but the geography is undeniable

There is, and I swore I'd never go in it cos the idea was just too scary!  But when you do, it's not scary at all cos you're hardly in before you're out again!  Pity we'd have to drive right across the south coast to use it.

Right people, time to get organised!
I had a letter from the show organisers today. Seems they sent a club stand entry form to me at my old Guildford address back in December -just when I was splitting up with Tanya. I've got a redirection for the mail set up now, but it must've fallen between me moving out & setting that up, so I never received it. Anyway, they just assumed we'd be attending so have allocated the same pitch as last year.
Bit of a change in policy this year though. The local council, who jointly run the show with the Thornycroft restoration group, want a registration number & insurance details for every vehicle attending. They've said that every year, but because a lot of our exhibits are unfinished projects, we've never bothered with it. The Thornycroft club take out public liability insurance that covers every vehicle anyway, so they shouldn't need individual details, but it keeps them happy.
So after a bit of a chat, they just want us to provide a list of registration numbers & insurance company name & policy number, for complete, road going vehicles only, not race bikes/cars or part built projects.
So we need to get our bottoms in gear & come up with a list. Same as always, all we do is turn up, struggle to put up a small marquee, park the vehicles in a vague semblance of order, then sit around, eating donuts & watching the World go by for the afternoon.
As we need to provide vehicle details, we can't take in waifs & strays who turn up on the day as we have in previous years, which might actually be a good thing. It'll mean it's just forum members, not friends & aquaintances from elsewhere.
I'd also like all vehicles to stay till the end of the show please -we usually lose a few during the afternoon, who have to leave early for various reasons. It leaves big gaps in our display & just looks a bit naff.
We need to get the entry form back in the next 3 or 4 weeks, so if you'd like to come along & can bring an interesting vehicle of any sort to display, 2, 3 or 4 wheeled, & can be onsite from about 10 in the morning, (or earlier if you want), till the official finish time of 5 in the afternoon, add your name & vehicle to the list please, but only if you can definitely make it. Thank you.  Wink

Yes please if you've got them Bobbi. I just need to write a list & hand it in.
Mike, they haven't asked for tow vehicle details, just show vehicles, (the organiser I spoke to mentioned trader's vans not being listed either). If you're not insured by then, you're an unfinished project, so no need to list it.  Wink It's just for vehicles actually driven or ridden onto the show field.

Exactly - driven onto show field.  I think Mike's right and they will want details of towing vehicles, doesn't make sense otherwise.
Traders' vans would of course be covered by the trader's Public Liability insurance.

It's all 'Elf n Safety stuff, has to go in the risk assessment which will be demanded by the event's own insurers.
