Trial fitted some bars and risers today with some more of galaxie500's gaffa tape. Sits just right so now I need to drill the top yoke and bolt it in properly.

Don't get me wrong I love the xs, but sitting on this it feels a bit more me and brings back lots of hooligan memories.

Also wondering how this would look with knobblies going down pendine

You wouldn't use knobblies down pendine, you would use whats on there,
Knobblies would rip the course up.

Thought you'd cleaned your frame up rather well!

Don't have the patience for that. He's filling and smoothing all the welds before getting it coated

Bars on properly, riding position seems pretty nice.

Need to tweak the subframe and then can mount the seat properly and see about getting the engine in.

Grin In kit form, stowed in the back of Archie's car, ready for the Basingstoke festival of transport tomorrow.
I had a sit on this today. Very small & lightweight, (yeah, I know there's no engine in it at the moment). Gonna be a real hooligan bike.

Managed to play today with the aid of Marcus. I'd spent a few evenings with PD bending up some tube to make a new subframe and getting the general shape done. I then whizzed it to Marcus's for full welding and making some seat mounts.

The seat itself was quite strong and fairly rigid, but I made up a plate to strengthen it underneath and allow us to bolt the seat down to the subframe. Once riveted on it made it super strong and I was glad made it.

We also made some tabs  for the seat to bolt through to and the rear mount for the tank. Once all bolted up it was absolutely solid and has a great position as well as being aesthetically pleasing.

Really glad with how the lines flow - the line of the bottom of the tank follows the bottom of the seat and the top of the rear of the seat is in line with the top of the tank.

Here you can see the plate underneath

And Marcus trying it out for size

Agree about the seat. Suits the bike.
Think you need a different (read, fit and female) resident model to pose with the vehicles. Sorry Marcus Wink
