the place was an ,alladdins, cave,, over 400 yank cars lying around ,,, a hell of alot just rotting away ,, the bloke used to have an american car /garage buissiness but packed it in and just sells a few new bits over the tin-ter-net,, all this lot is in the woods, under trees at his home out in the country ,, you can drive past within a fer yards and not know its there , he,s turned into a bit of a recluse,, i even had to phone him from the gate to be let in ,, but i seam to have made a new friend (i actually bought stuff of him twenty years ago from his garage buissiness)so i,ll be going back for more stuff and maybe another project when emily,s done ,, i spotted a few projects

Sorry you had a bad night spanners. As for power output, I think that depends a lot on what the engine was fitted to, how it was measured, and how much exaggeration the advertising guys thought they could get away with. Till you put it on a rolling road it's rather academic. Colour, if you want it to stand out, bright (but not light) red or yellow. Both will make the engine appear bigger than the blue or gold factory colours. If you are adding chrome or polished ally, this stands out better against the red.

By 1978 most Yank motors had very poor bhp figures firstly as they rerated from SAE to DIN . Secondly because the emissions rule had come in and with smaller valves and 2 barrel carbbs fitted most simply won't rev. However torque ( what counts for on the street) figures are still good

this has a quadra-jet four barrel carb on it so it should rev quite well the annoying thing now is a broken manifold to head bolt at first i just thought there was a bolt missing ,,then i took the manifold of and had a ,poke,, and found the broken bit in the head just tried ,touching, it with a drill and by ,christ,, its bl##dy hard another little problem that may take an hour or a day to sort ,,

If you think it's getting iffy for removal get it spark eroded away rather than risk screwing the head .
