this is a genral moan guys so i apologise in advance,
it starts as mum crashed her car had no readys and couldnt get to work, so as no one else in the family who are all able to work and earn, even thinks to help her out,so i(whom is stuck in the s**te great british benefit system through no ault of my own)skrimpedevery penny i had and managed to buy  her a car to go on with, a few weeks later the dizzy goes kaput, again im expected to do the work as the rest of the family dont know 1 end of a spanner to the other, but it did piss me that i was also another £70 out of pocket left paying for a new dizzy. then last week my older brothers turbo went on his toyota surf,an my mums car(or mine as i paid for it)developed a water leek,, again im expected to sort it out, my bro did pay me for the new turbo i got but not for the £30 diesel i used travelling to and fro Angry so last night i returned his truck on the way home in my van i gets a flat tyre...... this morning i sorted my mums car (again out of pocket)and took it to her work place and had my escort van back again Grin then on the way home whilst driving carfully through the flooded lanes some PRICK in a parcell force van flew straight in to the flood past me JUST and the remains of his wave went over my bonnet, and BANG...... stopped dead in the water, i walked through a mile of sheep piss ridden water to get the farmer and his matbrou to tow me home,(big thanks tony) the end result head gasket has blown out the front of the engine, ive started stripping it and praying the valves arnt bent but they will be., ive spent all day yestarday trying to find cash to buy spanners dutton seirra pick up project, and now this happens, and has any family members offered there help or service Shocked no.... is made me look at things a bit differently next time im expected i can tell you

Not much help I know One, but there's nothing as true as the adage,"If you want something done, particularly is its urgent, give it to a busy man!", looks like your the "busy man" in your family. I also believe that 'what goes around comes around', so do a "Life of Brian", y'know,...."always look on the bright..............." as its a case of laugh or cry, and there's no point in the latter............... chin up old son Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Morrag

i do know of a head i may be able to get cheeper its still the 1.8 endura d.e but of a turbo'd diesel, am i right in saying its the same and will fit, because i have in the back of my mind somewhere the water outlet?? is a different shape??

Same old story.

You help people and then they just expect it.

This year as with previous ones I've had people that expect me to help and expect it for nowt.

I don't mind helping and for nothing but too many times It ends up costing me one way or another.  Roll Eyes

Easy way is to just say no.....Even if it's family

Difficult when it comes to family, I have a standard rule for all family members (no exceptions)
my labour is free, but for each job undertaken, It is understood that when finished, I have to be taken to the pub for a few pints of what I fancy!!   Grin  Grin  Grin

"I want to tell you a story..", like I said earlier, those that can will always be expected to do so! Many years ago I had a guy move in next door, nice enough bloke, but useless, so that within a short while he was forever knocking my door for assistance, usually with his car. Well, enough being enough, one rainy day he appeared with a tale of woe regarding his front brakes, the pads of which he was attempting to change, with little in the way of tools, and even less in the way of ability and knowledge. Anyway, I went round and gave it a "lookin' 'at", then I said, "Bob, I'll fix your brakes, but whilst doing so, you go and make a start on digging over my veg. patch, which is something you can do, and something I was about to commence", well, he looked at first astounded, then asked if I was joking,to which I replied that it seemed an equitable division of labour to me, so he then declined! at which point so did I, and retired homeward! prob. solved, no more requests to extract one lazy, useless, neighbour from his periodic troubles. He moved a short while later................... Grin Grin Grin
