Re-scheduled Monkey World Visit - SUN 21/10/12

Hi All,
As you know, the last visit was postponed because of our delightful summer weather.  Cry  Our group ticket is about to expire so we have arranged a last chance visit in order not to lose the visit completely. Now it is likely this date won't be suitable for everyone but it was a matter of finding a date that didn't clash with other events in the short time we have left.

I have the ticket (as I live nearby and can be there to make sure we get in) so if you meet me at the entrance at 11 am, I will get us all in and then as usual, we can do as we please. In October, they close at 5 pm but 11 am allows those travelling from further afield to leave home at a reasonable time, while still allowing 6 hours in Monkey World.

I know this date isn't going to suit everyone and apologies for that, but we just want to make sure at least some you, especially those of you who contributed towards Micky's adoption, can get to see him and have a fun day out. The ticket allows 30 people in for free so let's use it. If more than 30 want to come along then obviously those who contributed to Micky's adoption will have priority but we will cross that bridge if and when we come to it, so come on folks, get those picnics packed!  Grin

If you are going to attend, please add your name to the next post (in the usual fashion). If you want my mobile number in case you get lost or get held up then just PM me.

The Monkey World address is:
MONKEY WORLD,
LONGTHORNS,
WAREHAM,
DORSET.
BH20 6HH
Tel: +44 (0) 1929 462537
Fax: +44 (0) 1929 405414
E-mail: apes@monkeyworld.org

I won't be able to make it this time, so JJ's in charge, with my full blessing.

So get yourselves down to Dorset & enjoy a day out on us.  Smiley

One of the best holidays I have ever had. I loved it there. Had a villa with a pool, away from the main towns.  Sorry we won't see you at MW but enjoy your holiday.

That is a shame. Maybe next year. Hopefully we will be back to the end of April date and you will have plenty of notice.

Anyone else up for this?
I won't be able to make it I'm afraid, but if you haven't been before, it's basically a free day out -all you've got to pay is your petrol & lunch. We sponsor Micky the chimpanzee every year & get the entry ticket in return. It expires in a couple of weeks, so if we don't use it it'll just go to waste. Free entry for up to 30 people. We never manage to raise that many, but should it happen, priority would obviously go to those who've so kindly contributed to the sponsorship.
It's not a club run as such -no need to arrive in a custom vehicle, (though I'm sure the Kapri clan will), just bring the kids along in the family car. Once you're through the turnstile you're free to wander off & do whatever you like & leave whenever you're ready. You don't have to stay together as a group all day. Go visit our guy Micky, (he's the grey haired one in Paddy's family group -the chimps are split up into different groups in large enclosures). Lots of other apes to see, several food areas, a huge kids play area, shop, etc. See if you can find our MMMotors paving stone, (in one of the "Walks of thanks"), engraved with the website logo. G'wan -you know you want to.

Good to see some Monkeys and have a good natter with JJ and the children enjoyed the monkeys but maybe not as much as they enjoyed the adventure playground!

Thanks JJ for getting us organised!
