Thanks again to everyone for the kind comments. Yes, we are returning to what passes for normal in the rennie household now, but an experience we wont forget in a hurry. As for insurance, well, we will see. We havent suffered any tangible loss, so i think there will be nothing to come from there. Just glad to all be ok, thats enough for me.
One thing I would say is that without seatbelts the outcome would have been very different. I know they are not always required in some foreign countries, but this proves the point, its worth wearing them
