"one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".

Simple words -but staggeringly important.
On the 20th of July 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first man, the first of our species, to leave the confines of our planet & step onto another World.
Over 40 years later, there have only been a handful of others, following in those footsteps. There are those that still don't believe it happened -& those who find it mind blowing that it did. I vividly remember my parents spending a night in sleeping bags on the living room floor to watch it happen, (in the days when homes only had one TV).
Returning to Earth he went on to a quite retirement, "basking in obscurity" as he put it. He described himself simply as "a nerdy engineer".
Neil Armstrong died today, from complications after heart surgery, aged 82.

Not so much the man, as what he represents Bobbi. Our first contact with another planet. That's pretty cool isn't it.

Sad news he had a life changing experience when he went there, i personally found what i heard and read of his experience inspirational.
But did he go to the moon?  ... Well of course they did i never had any doubt, and it was confirmed by myth busters Grin

There are mirrors on the surface of the moon, used to accurately measure the distance between us & it. So how did they get there then?  Smiley
When asked what he thought of the moon, Armstrong said, It's an interesting place. I recommend it.
