I've just got off the phone to a very nice lady at vosa after being put on hold and changing departments at the dvla .The vosa lady said I should just make up my own vin number minimum of 8 characters  and then take my trike for the msva test does this sound right?

Always used to be. Uncle Bunt frames always had a frame number beginning "UB", Cycle Haven frames have CH as a prefix, so I`d guess that this still runs true. Din`t forgee you can call it whatever you like too, maybe WAYNE999 as the model on the log book and then make up a number incorporating the model, for instance: WAYNE/78656435/999 when you fill the paperwork just put these into the relative boxes, this way you don`t have to stamp a number of their choice  Grin Grin Grin Grin
