Ok , Im blaming Andy for goading me into this! All thoughts ,comments,ideas,put downs etc appreciated,cos although I do realise "its my Trike and I can do what I want" I dont want to go down the wrong path,so Im throwing it to the wolves(you lot) to rip apart! It might be anon starter.If this thread doesnt go anywhere I may get the whole lot deleted,I just dont know!
 I dont know how far I will get or if it will work as a trailer ie the 'look' of it behind a trike.,but heres my basic thoughts............so eyes down and look in........
 How about a single wheel trailer? They have them for motorcycles. Ive overcome all the tech details in my head for the hitch etc,so its all down to aesthetics. Ive looked at lots of them on the net,and the biggest wheel they use is very roughly 20" diam. the even smaller diam wheel ones look cr*p to me. Some have the wheel enclosed ,some have it stuck on the back which to me looks like an afterthought! So have you now  guessed I dont like the ones with small wheels?
  Im thinking to use stuff I have here to keep the cost low.............
 So what about using the same size wheel as I have on the back of the trike?(Cos Ive got 2 spare!) I also happen to have a car hub(A35) that could be persuaded to fit with a bit of stud repositioning. To show off the wheel Im thinking a single sided round tube swing arm.A round tube draw bar. Im a bit concerned the tyre footprint will be too wide and cause it to" weave" a bit? Poss get round this by putting more air in it?

           So what do you think?

i will be watching this build. but i think you might be better off with a two wheels on your trailer

Those links show the 2 types of single wheel trailers. The one on e- bay sort of self steers,dont like them! Im talking about the ones on the other links(have read those articles a while back.) Why do you say I will be better off with 2 wheels? Looks? Stability?

single wheeled trailers are not very wide and are designed to lean and follow the bike . if they wider they will be unstable. two wheeled trailers are more stable and you can carry more weight up to 254 kgs

Agreed,but this one isnt going to be as wide as a 2 wheel type (ie it isnt going to look like the one on e bay),and I dont need to carry a huge amount of weight,just a tent etc.

but with that tent will be sleeping bag. air bed. camping stove. utensils. food. etc.

Personally I think a single wheel trailer would look very odd behind a trike, unless it's a reverse trike with 2 wheels at the front.

Ignoring the fact its nowt to do with me I can't see the point of havinf a single wheel trailer unless you are short of space to store it, even then some sort of folding wheel arrangement on a two wheel would be preferable to me. If we are just thinking out loud at the moment, wouldn't you be better looking at twin axle braked trailer. Dunno for trikes but if a car was pulling it you can go up a hell of a lot on weight with twin axle braked. You could then maybe build a mobile home (pod) instead of taking the tent

I quite like the little dumpy single wheeled ones, sometimes seen hooked up to scooters, (I've seen one being pulled by a bubble car too). Have to agree it might look odd behind a 3 wheeler though. Personally I'd use the 2 spare wheels you have to build a trailer that matches your trike.
Presumably single wheelers are supposed to lean around corners? Would it still need to behind a trike? If so, would a wide car type wheel lean? They don't have curved profiles like bike tyres.

I suppose everyone is right,and I shall take your advice.Still contemplating a 2 wheel build. So B-O-R-E-D at home off sick!

Not advice, just opinions Rod. Go single wheel & prove us wrong!

Stick with 2 wheels ROD,easier to build more practical to use.
