the plan was to ,,cut,, it off behind the cab and turn it into a sort of stake side or flat bed then spray the cab yellow ,,but,, the secretary off the owners club warned me not to cut it with it being rare i was also going to fit a diesel but it looks like the pinto will be fettled and remain and i think it will stay ,pirate, red or very close,,

well yesterday we had a visit from ,dave taylor, a knowledgable senior member of the ,dutton,, owners club who reckons i got a good un,, quite rare too as its one of only five known to have survived i spent the rest of the day ,tinkering, and sorting bits out electrics and all that sort of stuff,, getting bits freed off ond working good job i found three cans of WD40 under the seats when i ,de-junked,, the cab i connected the fuel line uptp a can of fuel and ran it for about an hour and a half it pressurised the rad pretty bad and pushed alot out of the overflow .. so i tested it out and it needs the cyl head gasket doing .. so its going to be pulled down and i,ll check the rest of it over whilst i,m at it,,,,,i love the older ford engine,s i cut my teeth on them ,,,,,,,,so i dont even need a book/manual to do it... the body is going to take a bit of work and fibreglass aint my strong point but i supose if i take my time i,ll get it right,, the chassis is pretty good .. but a couple of area,s may need attention ,, after all its been stood in a garden eight and a half years, . brake,s and steering will be completely overhauled ... i,m now on the lookout for some escort mk1 doors the skins dont really matter as i,ll be refitting the dutton doorskins just the inner frame,s that need to be sound..
