i only have a speedo and idiot light clock on my trike. was thinking of putting a temperature clock on as well just to keep an eye on the water temperature. any recommendations as to what clock i can use

The most accurate type is a capillary one(goes in to sender housing and a sealed tube runs from there to the gauge).
Any electronic type can be used ,providing the correct voltage stabiliser is used.I thought about using one,but the cost of the bits was about the same as a adjustable thermostatic fan switch kit,so got one of those instead.

it would seem that my fan is on all the time so dont need override switch. just need to make sure she aint running to hot
