ajs is this what you call a cafe racer

Not really a cafe racer this one, its a '7R', a full on racing machine which is basically the equivalent to a top competition works bike of today.

Value - mmmm £30,000 maybe...........  Tongue

Nitro doesn't add power, it multiplies it! Bob Loux, running 10.07 secs @138mph on a 650 normally aspirated Triumph drag bike in 1965!

one of them 3 wheeler thingys

Me thinks its a 'Triking' or 'JZR' kit. There were differnet engines that could be fitted, but the best looking used the air cooled Moto Guzzi lumps (as in the photo) from things like Spadas or Le Mans.

mk1 rally escort

Anyone noticed the trend for matt black bonnets seems to be coming back???

The idea (back in the day............) was that it stopped the sun bouncing off the bonnet and dazzling the driver, and allowed a little more of the heat from the (high performance) engine to escape.

Didn't even know this show was on. Thanks for the photos Dave.
When I was about 19 I had a Triumph identical to the red & white one. Bought a complete rolling chassis from a mate & put a tuned 750 Bonny engine in it. Wish I'd kept it.  Sad
