stoopid thing is I`ve forgotten what desmodromic means, but I do remember it made Ducatis oh so lovely to twist open the throttle on.

Tis Ducati's method of positively opening
and
positively closing the valves.
Since the valves are mechanically closed, it does away with valve springs and therefore valve-bounce at high revs.
