Bit of the old wearing my heart on my sleeve stuff ,but here goes......................... Roll Eyes
Was out in the shed today cuttin' and a conivin' ..as you do ,when this song came on Planet Rock..'Cats in the Cradle '(by Harry chopin I believe) Its about a father who doesnt have time for his son ,cos he works etc ,and always says I'll do it tomorrow ,sorta thing .Then when he has got time ,the son is grown up ,and he (son) doesnt have time for his dad . Always liked the song ,and got me thinking....
Thats exactly ,more or less the way I/SWMBO  (especially me! Shocked)are with our kids at times! Ive now got a new years resolution to do more with my 3 ! Bugger all the material things ,I'm gonna do my very best to pay more attention to them from now on!
Sentimental??...Stupid old git??...Melancholy??...Conscience playing up??....Yep ! all of those and more!!! Grin

It's a great thing to bear in mind that life is NOW!  And to enjoy all aspects including your family not wait till some better time - you never know what time will bring.

I agree with you there Rod, do it before it's too late.
In the words of the song ' enjoy yourself, it's later than you think'

Yes make the most of your children they are only young once, i started a family late in life my 40s, this was because i wanted children and have spent all my time enjoying them, not like their mother who once realised they were going to be around for a long time, treated them badly untill she could find a way to leave and after we devorced continued to abuse them, needless to say they consider that a mother does not exist in their lives.Up untill they grew up to be fine young men i allways put them first over my own hobbies and activitys, now i am not  so much in demand i can get on with my own thing, in the past year i have met a very nice Lady JJ who gets on well with my two lads. So Rod i hope you keep your New Years resolution because like me you will be well rewarded in time to come. Grin Smiley Grin

Spend as much time with them as you can!!

Since my divorce, mine now live 70 miles away, and I only get to see them every other weekend. I miss out on so much, and always wish I could spend more time with them than I can. I make the most of the time we are together, but it's never enough!!!!
