Thanks for the birthday wishes. By the way jj. I bumped into an old school friend today. Can you remember Trevor Harris. He popped into our workplace today and we seem to recognise each other instantly. It was good catching up, even only for a few minutes at work.

Yes I remember Trevor. It's funny sometimes because I see someone and think is that so and so from school and in that instance I forget I now live nearly 200 miles away. When I realise that, I think well I'm here so why shouldn't they be! If that makes sense.  Huh  Just doppelgangers so far.  Smiley

I'm not into Facebook so it is a shame Friends Reunited finished. I was in touch with a lot of people from our year. My brother Kevin goes on the Facebook page for the town. He says people have contacted him to ask if he is related to me. I think he denies it!  Cheesy I think he has posted stuff on there as well. I often think about the school, which is now a housing estate. That was a shock. Many happy memories though.

My primary school in Old Woking, Surrey is now something like "Old School Close". Mr Dslam went to the same school & still lives within sight of it.

We actually had to go to two different schools. Same name different locations. The first one was quite sprawling, laid out in lots of grounds which were mainly grass. Brick building so not too hot in the Summer. It was a great place. In about our fourth year we were moved to a glass school surrounded by concrete in the middle of a housing estate. I'm pretty sure our old location was taken over by the neighbouring Catholic school.

We took our O Levels in the Summer of 1976. If you remember it was the hottest Summer, at that time, since weather records began. We all had to sit at desks in a hall surrounded by glass. We might as well have been in a greenhouse! I'm pretty sure that building is still there so I wonder how its current students are getting on in this heat!

About 6 years ago I drove to the original location thinking I would drive in and look around. Ha. Like I said. Houses everywhere. I think it was built in the 50s so you would have thought it could have lasted longer than it did.  Sad
