According to what I spotted on the Hemmings website, the BBC are going to be working on a documentary program about this epic 15,000 mile trip, which took place more than 70 years ago.

From the website:

It was a white 1941 Plymouth P11 Deluxe four-door sedan, with special equipment including 18-inch “high-clearance” wheels, that adventurers Sullivan Richardson, Arnold Whitaker and Kenneth Van Hee drove from Detroit, Michigan all the way – much of it through uncharted territory - to Magallanes, Chile. This was a distance of more than 15,000 miles that was covered in eight months.
