Disc Brakes and calipers
«

Now I'm sat here having a think about the reverse trike..... Trying not to over do it though
I'm thinking that I could use some front hubs and discs from something (slightly vague I know) but the question is will the rear calipers with the handbrake fit the front hubs from something like an Nissan 100nx or an mx5?
Any ideas anyone?
Regards
K

Thanks bandit, problem solved once again. Do I need golf Mk1 Calipers?
One more stoopid query though: Do i use the nova or golf discs? I'm thinking that I'd have to use the nova discs

nova front discs non vented mk 1/2/3 carriers any vw rear callipers i went for vr6 corrados they have the spring inside instead of out side it prevents seizing. then pads and cable to match your callipers, im sure theres a bigger fitment list on here somewhere ile see if i can find it

Hi bandit, I think that We are at crossed purposes, i think that I'm going to have to use front hubs as the two wheels are going to be on the front and need to swivel. I think, though I'm not sure, that rear hubs are no good as they are fixed. I could probably make them swivel but it means even more work and problems to solve. Now I could be wrong and will be happy to be told different.
Thanks again

hi k i was on the same wave length, nova front hubs , but nova calipers havnt got handbrake mec so you'd need veedub rear calipers. the only other way i can think is to mount a second caliper on the rear disc that cable operated as im sure the handbrake cant be hydrolic, maybe easier to go that route,

Different type of vehicle but I am thinking of mounting a cable operated caliper onto my bikes rear disk to give a handbrake so if you go that way Klogan post what you do please

Thanks bandit, had a senior moment
I'll be phoning the local breakers tomorrow or Friday to see what I can get.
Hanson... I thinking that i will be going down the front HUD and vw caliper route, but that is subject to change
Thanks again for the help
