Hello all,

I know it's short notice, but I thought I'd post it anyway in case some of you are free this Sunday and fancy a day out.

The Mustangs owners club is hosting a small show at Highclere Castle in aid of Charity.
The choosen charity is a local childrens hospice:  http://www.naomihouse.org.uk/

Highclere Castle is located between Basingstoke and Newbury.
http://www.highclerecastle.co.uk/

There are currently about 35-40 Mustangs and a handful of other vehicles due to attend the show.

If anybody would like to bring a car/trike/bike/vehicle then entry is by donation to the charity.

Show starts at 11am.

Thanks
Nathan

Ooh, piccies please Nathan.   Grin
My parents used to live just round the corner from Highclere Castle. It was designed by the guy who did the houses of Parliament & was owned by Lord Carmarthen, who was involved in the discovery of Tutenkamen's tomb. He's buried at the top of nearby Beacon Hill-Carmarthen, not King TutT.
The house is also used for the filming of the Downton Abbey TV series & appeared several times in the Hugh Laurie/Steven Fry version of Bertie Wooster.
Full of useless information? Yup. Smiley

.. Lord Carmarthen ...
Andy, do you mean George Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon?

Carmarthen (Caerfyrddin) often gets mixed up with Carnarvon (Caernarfon). I was once in a garage in Carmarthen when a bloke came in asking for directions. It turned out the place he was looking for was in Carnarvon which was over a 3 hour journey away!

Downtown Abbey is filmed there so you could treat your wifes/girlfriends to a nice day out to see the castle and grounds (as I understand women like that sort of thing).........oh would you look at that dear, a car show......no I had no idea it was on  Wink

There is also an exhibition of some of the King Tut artifacts, but thats an extra charge to get in to see it.

I would have liked to have gone to this but I am at a meal and the theatre later in the day so it might be too much of a rush. I will have to see.  Also, Naomi House is such good cause, it would be nice to support them.

The Mustang show was a good day and the sun even came out!

51 cars turned up on the day (49 Mustangs, 1 very orange Corvette and my Galaxie)
We raised just under £600 for the charity  Grin

I didn't take any photos myself, but there are some here if you'd like a look.
