what best gas or gasless mig welding. the small disposable bottles dont seem to last long.and i cannot get hold of a large  bottle of gas. i have bean offered a .gasless 180mig

Gasless works just fine.

It runs alot hotter so is useful for doing the more heavy duty stuff  as you get better weld pentration.

The wire is not cheap and you have to clean the slag (Deposits off the weld after but they will look as good as one done with shielding gas.

You can get some good deals on the wire on ebay if you look around.

Did you know that the way to make a Gas only mig welder into a gasless one is to swap the earth and positive lead (Welding torch and earth clamp . Not the mains plug)

Earth clamp to positive and welding torch negative.

Thats the only difference other than the wire  Grin

hi. byzmax thanks for that info. i will check it out .its only a small mig sip 105 i think its ok to weld up to 4.5 metal

Make sure that it will take 0.8mm wire if you want to use it for gasless.  Grin

where abouts are you? i can get gas almost 7 days a week costs if i remember £140 to start off thats rental of bottle for 3yrs £60 deposit and the refills are £14 a time for a half size bottle  Wink
