JayJay and I visited Mid Wales and after a very nice carvery at a local hotel we walked along Aberystwyth prom. Bikes gather on Sundays in the Summer but there were not that many on this day. Sun was out though and here are a few pics I took. The local council killjoys are trying to stop the bikes gathering on the prom. Just another unwanted spoke in the British bikers' wheel. However, the locals are petitioning in support of the bikers as they enjoy seeing them all there. JayJay's Mum (seen below in the blue top) is one of those who supports the bikers and enjoys seeing all the young men in their leathers!

Below is the funicular railway in Aberystwyth, which is just up from the bikes. The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway (Welsh: Rheilffordd y Graig) opened in 1896. It is the longest funicular railway in Britain. Originally operated on a water balance system, it was electrified in 1921. The railway climbs 430 feet (130 m) in 778 feet (237 m)—a gradient steeper than 1:2 (50%). Its twin carriages are named the Lord Geraint and the Lord Marks. The summit is the site of the world's largest camera obscura.
