If you've been following the drag racing threads you'll know Lunatic & PD were an invaluable help to Brock & Mrs Brock when they helped out with crewing duties at the Nostalgia Nationals a couple of weeks ago. They were due to be at Avon Park at Stratford on Avon again this weekend, but unfortunately Lunatic's working & PD's got no transport, which leaves the Brocks to run the show on their own.
So if anyone's at a loose end this weekend & fancies lending a hand, head to Stratford & make yourself known at the Black Pig tent in the pits. You'll be made very welcome.

all offers gratefully received, to be honest we can run it with just the two of us and have done so for some years now but it makes so much difference to have an additional pair or two of hands, the standard of prep definitely raises and that shows in the results. It wasn't the best of meetings for us, we arrived after a long and strange journey to find a deflated slick on the race car, so it was off with the straps and out with the generator and compressor to deal with that in the trailer before we could unload and start to set up, oh and look, it's raining !  With the weather putting paid to any runs on the Saturday, we were in the lanes watching a couple of "our boys" putting in some decidedly risky runs when a marshall advised us to wait as a decision was being taken about slicks on track and a couple of minutes later it was decided (rightly) not to let them run. We spent the afternoon in Stratford and the evening at the annual Wild Bunch pit party, a very pleasant and very late night. Sunday was bright, hot and dry unlike our motor which was sulky hot and wet, more bloody oil leaks. We were shut down and sent back on the first run which effectively took us out of competition for the day. My fault and something that wouldn't have happened if we had had a run on Saturday, just needed to re-tighten the sump nuts and, just to make sure, drop a pint of oil out of it, sorted. We did go out for another couple of runs and had a nine something and a ten odd with a fairly interesting ride before deciding that our heart wasn't really in it and parking for the rest of the day. The Club are at York next weekend but we have nothing to prove and I can better use the time in the shed so we will miss that, and two weeks later they are at an MSA meet at Avon Park that our chassis doesn't qualify for, so our next and quite possibly last meet will be the Hot Rod Drags, 13 & 14 Sept, see you there perhaps
