A gorgeous shot Wizz. One of yours? Love the pick up at the back.
If you like that you'll love the Anthony Hopkins film, "The World's Fastest Indian". The climax of the film takes place on the Bonnevile salt flats with him riding his Indian some 8 miles or so across the salt beds. Apparently they filmed it the week before the Speed Trials week & suffered a flash flood that washed half the props away. Amazing it can dry out again within a week ready for the trials.
Great shot. Great film.

Unfortunately not one of mine, having never been to the States or Bonneville, although I'm seeing whether I can take in the Salt Flats as part of my (very short) road trip next month.

I'll ask my brother Steve, Who Knows About These Things. He tells me there's a place out in the desert at vegas where you pay to play with machine guns. It's nothing like Blackpool there he tells me -except the guns.

Yeah JFP, I'll dig out some info from the guy who owns one of them.

Loads of gun ranges across the States where you can fire interesting stuff. And on the Continent, a few in Poland. Allegedly.  ;D ;D

Already posted a piccie of the silver pickup in the foreground in the "Rust Bucket" thread. Belongs to a member of The Throttlers car club from Salt Lake City.
Think that's the same black pickup too. Try the Ruffrodders site on the Links page.

Nope. Different black one. Different colour wheels.

Asked my brother -who knows lots of clever stuff.
This is his email reply:
"What's going on with the back wheel of the silver pick-up? And where's the other one? Should be projecting above the pick-up bed the same as the nearside one. From the extreme camber I deduce he's had a puncture, carries no spare & has taken the right rear off to get it fixed, letting the axle down onto the salt.
Just call me Sherlock.
I think I have pictures of all 3 from the "Double Tree" at Bakersfield last year. Throttlers cars, maybe one from the Deacons. Not sure. "RuffRodders" would be a good place to start if you needed to know".

So there you go. Every picture tells a story eh?
Talking of piccies, why don't you stick a selection of your Stateside ones on a disc & send 'em to Yoda Steve?

Sorry, didn't have time to be Sherlock, have had two features to write for Custom Car for today and had to confine my sleuthing to the paid work.  ;)

Guns are to loud, they make me jump. I've got to go shooting next weekend in Norfolk. Gonna take some ear plugs.

This is from a man who's joined the TA. Next year he's off to foreign climes to defend the realm. We don't stand a chance.
