Title: Re: Classic cars "may run better" on Ethanol fuel Post by: Tony oily bike on July 24, 2020, 09:55:18 AM The article appears to be about how the vehicle runs
Issues relating to when the vehicle isn't running (ie parked / stored etc) can be seen on the FBHVC site re E10 https://fbhvc.co.uk/news/article/e10-fuels-consultation-fbhvc-position-statement Interestingly there's link on the Express page entitled "Classic cars may need 'extensive mechanical modifications' when E10 fuel is introduced" https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/1297714/classic-car-upgrades-uk-e10-fuel-changes-petrol-damage?int_source=traffic.outbrain&int_medium=traffic.outbrain&int_term=traffic.outbrain&int_content=traffic.outbrain&int_campaign=traffic.outbrain From the RAC https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motoring-news/over-half-a-million-cars-incompatible-with-new-greener-fuel/ Previous MMM E10 threads https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motoring-news/over-half-a-million-cars-incompatible-with-new-greener-fuel/ http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=16904.0 http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=14041.0 Title: Re: Classic cars "may run better" on Ethanol fuel Post by: minimutly on July 24, 2020, 10:20:50 PM From what I've read I would say the lack of lead making seats dissappear is the biggest issue, leaving them stood with old petrol in them second - how old does it need to be? Months it would seem, but a lot depends on keeping moisture out?
