Title: Anvil by firelight.
Post by: Olds on September 27, 2018, 07:52:15 PM
This might be a touch hipster, but I couldn't resist.
My anvil tonight illuminated by the fire.

Couldn't be more hipsterish -unless you're roasting your own coffee beans on the fire?
Nice shot Dave :)

Definitely spuds. Can't beat them cooked on a fire. Many memories of them wrapped in foil and stuck at the bottom of the Nov 5th bonfire. You can have that all year round, Olds.  8)

Love spuds baked in the ashes, but my present forge isn't really big enough (great for a fry up though). Something to look forward to, once we've moved and I've built the smithy.

You're moving Dave?

Yup. Looks like it. Found a nice place 'up north' (well midlands) out in the countryside. House is smaller (there's only the two of us now), but the garage/workshop is 30' by 20' with a log burning stove, plus additional storage, toilet etc. so I probably wont be in the house much. :D.
Nothing definite yet, but here's hoping.

Sounds great, but it'll be a shame to see you go mate.
I've still got your multi meter in my garage. I'll drop it in soon.

I'm surprised you still haven't. No sooner are the signs up around here, that they are sold. Same by my Mums near Fareham. North university towns are doing well and so is North Wales. Most of the South East, which we are classed under, is still strong. London is fading a bit but they have been for a while. Perhaps you need the House Doctor in.  :) Last time I moved I got as much out of the place as possible and then had someone in to fill any blemishes and paint all the walls. I had a new balcony installed and generally titivated.  :o  A lot of people do this then wonder why they are moving and why didn't they declutter and have fresh paintwork beforehand.  ::) Day one, the first person in offered me the full asking price. I think the titivation helped and it cost me about 2 grand but the balcony was most of that. Say £600 for the rest.

I don't know if you are in the same position as I was but even little changes can make a difference. I know you want to get away, so let's hope someone comes along soon.

I would think the traffic problems on the A338 would be offputting to buyers at present.
