Title: Trike. service work bench
Post by: terry t on May 02, 2018, 08:02:26 AM
I built this to make life easier for working on and servicing the trike. saves a lot of kneeling down when removing panels

Um...  I can see that a bike would go on there but how do you fit the trike on, surely the axle is too wide?

Hi BG. I designed it to fit under the trike when not in use storage. it has extending arms on the rear beam the pull out and lift the trike under the axle leaving the rear wheel free

The lift in on the floor. with the trike raised up to a comfortable working height. just need to sort out the front wheel support and safety lock stay. then get it painted

I have done some modifications to the lift. nothing major just more user friendly. I have had made two arms that pick up the trike by the wheels this is more stable when working on it the other arm are fine and will be used. It can now be used for Motor bikes.

Thanks for your comments. the 1st set of arms I used came with the cross beam lift and worked fine when you want to remove the wheels or service the brakes but you needed to strap the trike to the bench for safety . with these the trike sits firm when working on and I don't need the strap it down and it can use it for bikes as well now.

Changing the platforms on the first set of arms to a U or V shape might help.
