Title: Balls
Post by: minimutly on December 01, 2017, 05:55:17 PM
Just bought one of these:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lathe-Ball-Turning-Attachment-Radius-for-emco-unimat-3-4-lathe/142593058100?_trkparms=aid%3D777003%26algo%3DDISCL.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49479%26meid%3D3b9f8e4aa50442b6ac32ddf2beecb2e0%26pid%3D100012%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D142585635540&_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985
I was thinking of making one, but thought what the hell, one job less.
Not sure if I'm happy or not, the same seller is offering the same item for substantially less - bin caught...

I have no idea what that even does, but if you're happy with it & were happy with the price at the time, it was a good buy wasn't it? :)

It allows you to machine a solid bar into a ball, or put a "neck" in a bar. Ie instead of making the rounded ends of my stainless rack by eye, this will make them all the same, without guesswork.
