Title: A bit of brass machining
Post by: Manky Monkey on October 12, 2017, 01:17:06 PM
I'm looking for someone to modify some motorcycle fuel taps for me.
I need smaller outlet spigots. These are 10mm & I need 6. I assume they're either pressed or screwed into the body.
Can anyone machine a pair for me for cash?

Happy to have a go if you can get the old ones out.

Thanks Dave. Can't see how they're fitted, but I've got a spare so guess I could just grab it with molegrips & see if it unscrews.

Try warming it up with a blow lamp first, then try pulling it out

Might be an idea to strip one down fully first. Doubting that it will come out easily as it is probably swaged or brazed into place, as they are not meant to come apart for obvious reasons
Unfortunately Amal don't do a larger single spout banjo but they do do twin spout ones in 5/!6"
