Title: Shuttleworth run-about Post by: Manky Monkey on September 19, 2017, 09:27:05 PM I was wandering around the Shuttleworth vintage aircraft collection in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire this afternoon -I wonder if that's where the character of Biggles the ace pilot got his name? -when I spotted their parts hauler parked outside one of the hangars.
An "upcycled" Reliant. I loved the girder forks, (M40?), & "artillary" style wheels, (Morris 8?). The plastic school chair was a classy touch too :) Title: Re: Shuttleworth run-about Post by: Manky Monkey on September 19, 2017, 09:28:41 PM .

Title: Re: Shuttleworth run-about Post by: Olds on September 26, 2017, 07:46:27 AM Think it's a Reliant Regent 10 cwt van from about 1950, without its body and with a later engine fitted. Austin designed axle is the reason for the three stud "Easyclean" wheels.
Title: Re: Shuttleworth run-about Post by: Manky Monkey on September 26, 2017, 02:16:24 PM Aah, of course. There used to be a cream coloured one at the Basingstoke show every year.
Title: Re: Shuttleworth run-about Post by: Olds on September 27, 2017, 07:58:11 AM Yep. Wire wheels shows the one above is the earlier 6 cwt version.
Jeez, sometimes weird and totally useless information gets stuck in my head! Title: Re: Shuttleworth run-about Post by: Manky Monkey on September 27, 2017, 08:05:11 AM That's the only kind of information I ever remember!
