I'd like to know where that pillar of eu-ness, human rights comes into this?
For instance, picture Mr Joe Blogs, 70 yrs old retired, not very well off and running an old ( I don't know, Ford Anglia shall we say). Mr blogs has looked after the wedge for 50 odd years and it's immaculate, but has had one or two upgrades in its life - a replacement engine, disc brakes, higher ratio axle.
He has two problems.
One, the vehicle might have to be scrapped due to failing the substantially altered test - whatever that turns out to be.
Two, even if it is allowed Historic status, he will be on limited mileage, so his annual trip to Scotland to visit his Aunt Morrag is doomed, unless he can afford to buy a "modern" car, or replace the wedge altogether.
I'm sorry, but the sooner we're out of this power crazy European crap the better...
Appologies for drifting into politics again, but it really gets my goat how we seem to fall over ourselves to conform to this lot.

Unfortunately getting away from EU makes no difference. We just get our instructions via them but the whole thing is driven by UNECE ( that United Nations and EU ) so everyone will still get it anyway . All to do with zero road deaths by 2050 and autonomous cars :(

Us humans tend to find ways around so called legalities ? But us Brits tend to sit and take it ,while complaining individually in our sheds instead of rising up and sticking it to the bloody fools who govern us ? Never trust politicians so never vote..so hence fourth I try not to moan about them and just tinker with my projects in my little bubble while waiting for the call to ARMS .. ;D full respect to KEV for what he does for our hobby/lifestyle but like MR Powell I fear not enough people are listening ? :(

'getting around' is being relied on in this case but it's not going to happen .Everything is already in place to ensure everything can be enforced and monitored, no input required by owners .We ( ACE) warned that this bit of legislation was Armageddon, the last great battle between good and evil. Still it was great while it lasted :)

Once upon  a time people cared about each other  and would band together to change things. Not so nowadays ...

older generation of hotrodders(minus a few) still think its for kitcars.
no idea what its going to take for them to except it. future legislation could change that though.
