Title: Re: heathrow classic car show Post by: Tony oily bike on July 11, 2011, 08:24:15 PM ajs is this what you call a cafe racer Not really a cafe racer this one, its a '7R', a full on racing machine which is basically the equivalent to a top competition works bike of today. Value - mmmm £30,000 maybe........... :P Title: Re: heathrow classic car show Post by: Tony oily bike on July 11, 2011, 08:27:10 PM jeff uren savage estate Nice motor! Rare as hen's teeth these, if memory serves me right, they ran a (tuned) V6 Essex engine ?? Title: Re: heathrow classic car show Post by: Tony oily bike on July 11, 2011, 08:29:51 PM one of them 3 wheeler thingys Me thinks its a 'Triking' or 'JZR' kit. There were differnet engines that could be fitted, but the best looking used the air cooled Moto Guzzi lumps (as in the photo) from things like Spadas or Le Mans. Title: Re: heathrow classic car show Post by: Tony oily bike on July 11, 2011, 08:32:42 PM mk1 rally escort Anyone noticed the trend for matt black bonnets seems to be coming back??? The idea (back in the day............) was that it stopped the sun bouncing off the bonnet and dazzling the driver, and allowed a little more of the heat from the (high performance) engine to escape. Title: Re: heathrow classic car show Post by: Tony oily bike on July 11, 2011, 08:33:31 PM Nice piccies by the way...... ;)

Rare as hen's teeth these, if memory serves me right, they ran a (tuned) V6 Essex engine ?? can't remember when i last saw one, and that was a saloon. this is the first estate i've ever seen. it did sound nice though Title: Re: heathrow classic car show Post by: Manky Monkey on July 11, 2011, 10:01:18 PM Didn't even know this show was on. Thanks for the photos Dave.
When I was about 19 I had a Triumph identical to the red & white one. Bought a complete rolling chassis from a mate & put a tuned 750 Bonny engine in it. Wish I'd kept it. :( Title: Re: heathrow classic car show Post by: renegade53 on July 12, 2011, 05:37:54 PM seems its gonna be the first sunday in june in future.
