I have been invited to this one with my triumph sprint bike, assuming I don't blow it up at the Brighton speed trials the weekend before I will be there. Hopefully Tony (oily bike) will be with me too.

   We'll be there with the Tiki Munki, come and see us, either the kettle's on or the fridge will be open.

   

I missed the Nostalgia Nationals, so will definitely be at this one.

Planning to go with Dslam as he's been invited to demo his sprint Triumph motorcycle, but also hoping to go the the Goodwood Revival on the Friday .... mmmm ???

I used to have a meth burning 5T in a hagon frame with hagon forks and a Roots supercharger ;D ;D ;D ;D

Looks like I will have to find you all, going to be a very busy weekend for me  :o

Make sure you keep a better eye on that push bike, looks like you'll need it ;)

Will be there about 2pm but not on the trike as she's developed another oil leak again same place as last time on the rocker cover end plate.

I'm not going to make it again - after last weekend in Norfolk I'm knackered and skint!

And I'm out too -got to concentrate on my own hotrod for the time being.

Made up there with Dslam (after a busy Friday - Goodwood Revival and Kempton on the Saturday), as the two-wheelers were invited to display and run some historic drag bikes.
Managed to bump into some Mankies too, good to put faces to names, (that be Cunningplan and Brock, hi guys  ;))

So for those that didn't make, and those who fancy seeing some photos, here's a selection of an event that actually did what it said on the tin, a nostalgia drag meet true n true (reminded me of the early 70's etc and Blackbushe.

Great 'feel' to the event as well!!   ;D

Yep, its a Rolls Royce dragster, and boy, did it shift!!!!

Cacklefest was ace, and my mate Andy Fadster put on a mega show, he used four gallons of juice just for cacklefest

Here 'Rouge et Noir' the first bike into the 8 seconds (blown 750)on the left with Phil Steele on board,  and a blown Hagon Triumph riden by Justin Newell, doing the traditional burn out technique of finding something that doesn't move!!

These sounded glorious!!! even with the ear defenders on!! ;D

Very nice pics, Tony. I gave in about midday on Sunday when i'd exhausted every item of dry clothing I had.

No racing-all-day-Saturday wet.  :-\

Just a 10 minute downpour around lunchtime in Hampshire as I recall. Still wish I'd gone, but need all the workshop time I can get at the moment.

Oh boy, that IS wet - not so sorry I didn't get there now!   But those pics make me determined to be there next year with my new camera...

Ah, we had a blast anyway. It's the company not the weather that makes a good weekend.  :)

I could not get there for the Friday but even with the weather as it was over the rest of the weekend, it was one of the best HRDs. I was still as busy as normal Sat with quite a few cars wanting to be checked over but now and again had to duck for cover when it rained. Sunday was quite on the scrutineering side, but after a late start and a few oil downs, the last two hours were storming with lots of good quick runs.
The trade stands were better than normal and one managed to get a few bob from me for parts for the new car.
The flame burnouts and cackle fest were from my standing point (Guiding the cars into their spots on the track) was bloody loud. Fireworks were even good.
Meeting a few people from on here (Including one of the best magazine writers ;D ) is always great.

So did you take your own car along to show it off Tone?
I haven't seen flaming burnouts at Shakey before -what do the health & safety men make of that?! Looked great though.

I checked over that Pop for racing but dont know if it went down the track or not.

That will be me then ;D. There were six bikes invited to do a some demo runs. Because no-one ran on Saturday due to the wet, they had to fit in their championship runs in 1 day so we, the bikes, were not expecting to get any runs. Right near the end of the day we got the thumbs but were told to hurry up as they were nearing their shutoff time so we up got to the line and ran but I got a bit more traction than I expected. I knew it would be sticky but after a full day of racing the track was really good. My time and speed were crap as the shot shows me on the way down (throttle closed) as the front touched down I opened it up again and the front went straight back up. Made for a great photo but a crap run. A really great day though. Some seriously quick and interesting kit. Will deffo return if invited.

Thanks matey, I was aware of the NSA meet but I have other plans that weekend but not any cunning ones! ;D

Don't know anything about that Pop Chris, but just like the way it sits. It was there last year too.
