Ok so i'm going to ask a real dumb question. I know what pcd is so no problem there but what is the offset of a wheel?

The distance from the mounting surface in the middle of the wheel, to the outside edge of the rim. For example, deep dished wheels have a lot of offset, compared to most modern wheels which are almost flat fronted, so have very little offset.

The offset is calculated from the centre of the wheel.

so you have a positive or negative offset depending on where hub is place within the wheel  ;)
