Title: Rolls Royce morning at Goodwood.
Post by: Chevy Rick on May 22, 2011, 09:49:46 PM
Victory Wheelers were invited to a morning visit on Sat May 21st to Rolls Royce, for a guided tour of the factory assembly line, our RR guide gave a very informative talk through the length of the tour, shame we were not allowed to take photos inside the factory area, below are some photos taken in the showroom and outside in the entrance.

Looks like an interesting visit Rick.

Ahhhhh.. for the days when Rolls Royce were actaully British:

From wikipedia: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a British manufacturer of luxury automobiles based at the Goodwood plant in West Sussex, England. It is the current producer of Rolls-Royce branded automobiles, whose historical production dates back to 1904. The factory is located across from the historic Goodwood Circuit in Goodwood, West Sussex, England. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the BMW Group.

I drove one for a client once and I reckon it drove better than the rolls, I really didn`t want to get out of it, soooo lovely and I hated to like it so much. Client even sold his roller and bought one in the end. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'd guess at 'Gravity Racers' (soap box down hill racing to you and me) ??

Yes they are, used at the Goodwood festival of speed some years back.

Best thing about the soapbox event was it let you go for a pi** without missing the petrol stuff.
Some of 'em did crash pretty well tho  ;D

Luckily they don't run the soapboxes anymore.
