Title: Sad, sad day
Post by: Blackpig on February 04, 2011, 09:24:42 PM
Farewell faithful friend :'(

It's a very sad evening  in the Field household.

After 5 fun and happy years, The Black Pig is no more  :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

The body has gone to a new home, to be chopped in half and then used to form a basis for a new body :'(

Long live The Pig.

No-o-o-o!!
That really is sad news. For those that don't know, "Brock" is my big brother Steve, pilot of the Pig, & "Black Pig" is his far better half, mechanic, crew chief, support van driver & bacon buttie maker, Lesley.
I've stood & watched the Pig launch from the start line at the drag track many a time & always been secretly proud that that's my brother out there, kicking bottom. Lesley & Steve have collected a big bucket of trophies during that 5 year campaign -& spent countless long nights toiling away in the workshop, as well as suffering many a mechanical mishap, to earn them. Well done guys.
The Pig's had several previous incarnations with other owners, "Pony Express" being the one I remember, so I guess it's fitting that it should continue it's journey through the ranks of Britain's weekend racers.
It's been a hell of a ride. So long Black Pig.

....bring on the new car!  ;)

She was a stunning little vehicle. Well done to team Black Pig for your achievements in such a relatively short space of time.

Brock will tell me if I'm wrong but It was Mick Hillier.

The chassis was under this before it became Pony Express so the car has a lot of history.
