Hi all...Do you think its ok to use paint stripper on my mag wheels,on my project,rather than getting em bead blasted. ??? ???

I've used it to strip clear lacquer off alloys without any problems.

I used Nitromorse on the factory GM wheels okay. In the past I have used a caustic oven cleaner that was chaeap and worked well but I suspect it was taken off the market due to H&S

at work i have a caustic soda bath for cleaning catering equipment, if i put ally in it turns black and pits straight away. strong mix tho. would be wary with wheels...

twizzles got a caustic bath for stripping wheels prior to polishing. if he drops by he,ll point you in the right direction cheers toad ;)

cheers yow lot.....i might just buy a tin of nitromours and try a small area of the wheel and see what happens.

Be very very careful using caustic soda on aluminum as it gives of hydrogen  :o

nitromours is fine mate i'v used i loads of times,on ali no problems,
make sure you were goggles and gloves.
