Title: Garden visitor? - i hope not Post by: tbone on August 10, 2010, 07:22:23 PM This is Windigo, he`s our ten foot long, 4.5 stone albino burmese python that lives under the stairs!
At 7 years old he`s still only a baby and Mrs T has brought him up since he was hatched. I must confess that he isn`t my thing, he`s too big and i dont like their heads (full of nasty sharp teeth), but Mrs T loves him. Can you handle him without the fear of getting a bunch of teeth sunk into you?

Personally I prefer a T Bone steak to a T Bone snake. Title: Re: Garden visitor? - i hope not Post by: tbone on August 10, 2010, 08:37:04 PM They`ll live for 25-30 years, can grow in excess of 20 feet and end up weighing over 14 stone,(in captivity) all of it pure muscle!
They are relativly docile, except at feeding time, so can be handled easily, as long as they are used to it, but even at this size its a 2 person job (Mrs T gets the business end). A bite would be an extremely painfull and bloody experiance although not lethal, as they kill by constriction, the hardest part would be removing yourself from the mouth as his double rowed teeth all point backward, they also have no gag reflex and so once something is located at the top of the throat it cannot be ejected and there is only one way for it to go! Title: Re: Garden visitor? - i hope not Post by: tbone on September 04, 2010, 12:45:21 PM Hiya Blair, we have a Royal too. We used to have 3 Corns and another Royal along with 5 various Tarantulas in the conservatory but that was a bugger to keep cool in the summer and expensive to heat in the winter so we`ve not replaced them when they died.
They aren`t really my thing, give me a dog any day ;D, but Mrs T loves them. Title: Re: Garden visitor? - i hope not Post by: RODeo on September 15, 2010, 06:10:50 AM Snakes and spiders give me the shivers...Im feeling it as I type! ;D
