Title: Wiring etc........Couple of Q.s
Post by: RODeo on August 02, 2010, 08:48:13 AM
Hi All
Blonde moment here ...(or grey in my case! ;D)..............Never wired hazards before ,only added the system to classic cars.....
Hazard wiring...Will I only need one wire plus an earth to each indicator, and I presume a hazard relay does the indicators as well?

Engine bolt threads.......Its soon time to pull the engine for the final tart up . Anyone know what thread the bolts are for the bellhousing ? UNF? UNC? or summat else? Also the thread for the g/box top plate bolts and the head bolts?Im going to do all bolts /nuts in s/steel.
   Thanx

Morning Rod, nice to hear your progressing...

Head Studs are 3/8" UNC into the block and 3/8" UNF on the other end
Bellhousing Studs are 5/16" UNC into the Bellhousing and 5/16" UNF on the other end
Gearbox top plate bolts are 1/4" UNC

Are you using a combined Indicator/Hazard flasher unit or 2 seperate ones?

This might help take the pain out of the hazards for you

Thanks for thread info TB.
I had seen those hazard kits ,but 'cos Im doing everything from scratch, I havent got an existing set up to splice in to.
..............hmmmm ...just had another look at those kits..think I may get one then adapt it to fit .

Bit more expensive, but does provide a nicer handlebar switch.

I'm in the same boat - gonna sort out front and rear indicators first, then splice this kit in afterwards.
