Title: Public Track Day - All Chevy Weekend & Shakey Super Tractor Pull: 12/13 June Post by: cunningplan on June 05, 2010, 10:08:49 PM EVENT DETAILS
Public Track Day - All Chevy Weekend & Shakey Super Tractor Pull: 12/06/2010 - 13/06/2010 It’s club day here at Shakespeare County raceway and what better way to get your club involved in one of the best participation sports in all of motorsports. And that’s not all for every driver signing on for the Public Track Day on Sunday will automatically be entered into the raceway’s SCR Track Challenge to find the quickest 4, 5, 6 and 8 cylinder category cars of the day (Sunday only), as well as the quickest manufactured motorcycle in our Trophy Bike Dash. Tractor Pulling is defined as 'The World's Most Powerful Motor Sport', and its coming in June for the first ever Shakey Super Pull. These events are extraordinary - tractors powered by everything from four aero turbines to five Keith Black V8s. They make several thousand horsepower - all to pull a weighted sled up a track. Great fun to watch, if only to see how some garage genius has managed to use a spider gearbox to get the power from three Allison V12s to one rear axle! The winner of the competition is the machine that can pull the sledge the furthest. If more than one competitor completes the 100 metre track with the sledge (a Full Pull ), then the sledge is made harder to pull, and the competitors who made a Full Pull go again until they are stopped and a winner obtained. The sport however has many and varied classes from the small single engined 950kg Modifieds to the multi engined 4.5 tonne 9000 bhp monsters. But don’t take our word for it. Come along to the raceway and feel the earth move! Its awesome. *BTPA Points round Saturday evening 12th June. Sunday 13th June Tractor Pulling demo and Test & Tune. Clubs are also actively encouraged to take part in either a sport of inter-club members fun on the quarter mile or a full on quarter mile shootout with other clubs of their choice. It’s the cheapest form of motorsport in the country! Contact us for further details on 01789 720180 or take a look at our RWYB information page. Please note: All drivers taking part in RWYB Public Track Days are required to wear a Crash Helmet whatever times or speeds the vehicle is capable of doing over a quarter of a mile. The requirement is there for your safety. If you are competing with a motorcycle, a helmet, leathers, gloves and boots are required. No trainers of jeans allowed. So don’t forget your Driving Licence and Crash Helmet! |
