The commercial test requires a low fluid level warning light, mounted in view of the driver, with a means of testing it works. That usually means a button built into the reservoir cap. Presumably cars need a warning light too. My reservoir also has minimum & maximum fluid levels marked on it.
Other than that, not sure what else it could fail on. As far as I know, trikes aren't required to have a warning light.
